In the days when West Coast trains were still diverted over the S&C the 57's were employed in dragging Pendolino units.
This did not last for many years before the decision was made to use buses to replace trains in the North West north of Preston.
57310 approaches Blackburn with an evening "drag" on Sunday 27th May 2007.
57310 is now with GBRf after a spell with DRS after Virgin disposed of the class.
