Chain Locker of the Balclutha - a photo on Flickriver

Upon lifting the anchor with the windless, the chain was washed off and stored here in the chain locker; carefully laid down to facilitate the next dropping of the anchor.  I was probably not supposed to be here, but found myself here nonetheless in this ancient light, with camera ... and I thought sounds of labor of sailors long gone ...
