Peruvian restaurant Canta Rana Barranco Lima Peru

Barranco a seaside district south of the centre of Lima is well know for its bohemian character, but it is also a great place to find good food, and if you are looking for a classic place la cevicheria Canta Rana will not disappoint you.

It was open around 30 years ago by Vicente Firuguele and exile from Argentina who came to Peru in the 70’s, and over the years it has established itself as one of the best places for lunch in Barranco.

Their specialty is of course sea food cebiche conchas a la parmesana, conchas negras, chupe de camarones, arroz con mariscos, pulpo al olivo, tacu tacu de mariscos and since the owner comes originally from Buenos Aires they make some porteno dishes too like milanesa napolitana.

The prices are middle range, a great time to visit this place is for lunch on a Sunday when is packed with regular costumers and Peruvian families and or any time there when there is an important football game as they put on a giant screen to watch it.
