Lola Rining

I present you my new photography project.
I spend a full day with a filipino or filipina, follow the person and take pictures.

Today, "A day in the life of ... Lola Rining" (Lola means Grand mother)

Lola Rining (69yo) is the grand mother of our neighbours and friends and lives in the south of Negros Oriental, in Lutobang, Zamboanguita.
I met her for the first time in 2018 and we directly liked each other.
This day I took pictures of her and she played the model with a lot of pleasure.
We came back to see her 1 year later just for brining her some groceries.

Recently our dog had some babies and lola Rining wanted to have one of them. She called her dog " Vincent" to remember me haha. I let you imagine the funny situations when I go to visit her. :)

Two weeks ago we came back to spend the day with her for my new project. We brought her a sac of rice, coffee, food, and some tobaco and some lumboy leaves. (Leaves that Filipinos use for rolling cigarets).
She was really happy.

Her son called from Manila because he knew that I was coming that day and we had a little talk on the phone.
We also met lola Rining's sister who was cleaning the malungay on her bench. (Plant used for cooking soup).

The day passed nicely, we ate, we talked, we drank a bit ( with moderation). Her grand daughters took care of her and her hair, which seems to be a tradition for them when they see their grand mother.

Finally she showed us how she cut wood to earn a little money wven with her condition, she has one paralysed arm.
She cuts wood and make some small stacks that she sells for 10 php.
To do so she has to climb up a little hill near her house and then cut the wood up there.

A very interesting and moving day.
