'Pug' at Castlecroft sheds - a photo on Flickriver

            One of the undoubted stars of the weekend was the newly restored Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway 0-4-0ST No 19 (built at Horwich works in 1910), owned by the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Trust. Previously based in the museum at the Ribble Steam Railway in Preston, No 19 was moved to Bury in January 2020 for a review into whether she might steam again. Overhaul followed, and she first steamed on 15 April 2022 - her first movement in steam for 52 years. Restored to pristine pre grouping livery, she wowed the crowds at the ELR merger celebrations with a first ever passenger service and freight shunting exhibitions.
