Das Gebäude wirkt mit seinen beiden weit auskragenden Dächern wie der Vogel Phönix oder ein Adler, der gleich abheben wird.
Der Vergleich mit dem mythischen Vogel Phönix begründet sich auch durch die symbolträchtige Lage des Bahnhofes, denn der weiße Bau wurde auf dem Gelände der Doppeltürme des ehemaligen World Trade Center errichtet.
