That Cool Guy

            It was just another late afternoon of hanging around the skate park a few blocks from my place. Truth be told, I'm one of the oldest guys here. As I was chilling out, sipping at my Coke, a few of the young teens passed by and smirked at me. I could have sworn I heard something about "that old guy" being back again. I watched as they went over and began to do these little tricks with their skateboards; things amateurs do. So what did I do? I got up, grabbed my Coke, Pringles, and longboard and made my way over to them, skating casually over. One was dared to do a handstand as I approached and failed miserably. I laughed and set my board and snacks down. "Hey, nice trick. But can you do this?" With a grin, I swung myself downward and propped myself up on one hand and held my balance for nearly ten whole seconds while those young teens gasped and exclaimed over my trick. That was how I became "cool" in their eyes. No longer was I "that old guy" but "that cool guy" with the neat tricks.
