Sheffield Cathedral started life as the parish church of St Peter and the Holy Trinity, it was elevated to Cathedral status in 1914 shortly after the creation of the Diocese of Sheffield.
Built with a cruciform floor plan from around 1430, on the site of a 13th century church the cathedral has had additions and been remodeled over the past few centuries.
The central tower and spire reach a high of 161 feet.
