            This was a third performance of this unorthodox American singer in Toronto's Koerner Hall. First one I attended. Seeing recently a documentary about the singer has peaked my curiosity. I have the feeling it was not 100% predetermined concert list. Being in Canada, CM Salvant included more French songs (she is of Haitian/French heritage) and even the few classic songs sounded completely different than the originals. This was her only stop in Canada this year, as she tours USA, Germany, Poland, China (HKG) and Japan. Her bassist (Yasushi Nakamura) and drummer (Keita Ogawa) have Japanese names, so she may have big following there.  Marvin Sewell - guitarist, Alexa Tarantino- flute and New Orleans pianist Sullivan Fortner completed the lineup.
