Chambers Creek Running High - a photo on Flickriver

Chambers Creek is my all time favorite going all the way back to the '50's. I first went down there when I was about 6 with my cousin, Randy Miller, and our dads. They had a 22 rifle and told us to never shoot at water because the bullet could ricochet and hurt someone. A minute later they saw a salmon swimming upstream... and shot at it!

In the '60's Randy and I rode our dirt bikes down to the creek and the two trails going down are exactly the same now as they were then. It gives me goose bumps every time I walk those trails with my camera and I am so blessed to be able to do so.

The area above the creek we live in is now called Oakbrook which has been built up since 1980. Prior to that all of Oakbrook was nothing but oak trees and dirt bike trails, and affectionately known to every kid in the county as "The Goose". Unfortunately Randy Miller has passed away but our memories of riding in The Goose and down to Chambers Creek live on. 💖

I happened to shoot this one with the 200-500 lens just because that is the lens that was on the camera I guess. The 95mm Breakthrough polarizer was helpful in removing glare from the scene and increasing saturation. The fog effect was added in post with a single click from a fog brush, then mostly removed from the central area. There is also a touch of Orton Effect using the Raya Pro Luma Panel as a plugin within PS (you never leave).
