Cormorants - a photo on Flickriver

Cormorants

            For more than an hour this mating pair of Cormorants occupied this rock on Williamsons Beach, west of Wonthaggi, in Victoria, Australia.

Five minutes later as I was taking another photo further along the beach - I was standing on the wet sand between some rocks, camera up to my eye when next thing I knew I was knee deep in cold sea water – that woke me up and unsurprisingly it was also very wet. 
I had read the sign warning of the danger of rogue large waves so I guess I was lucky that it was only up to my knees.

That headland in the distance is Cape Woolamai which is on Phillip Island some 20 km away.
