Nieuwe Station Driebergen-Zeist, Netherlands - 3515

Driebergen-Zeist is a railway station located between Driebergen-Rijsenburg and Zeist, Netherlands. It is located in the municipality of Utrechtse Heuvelrug. The first station was opened on 17 June 1844 and is located on the Amsterdam – Arnhem railway. The station was demolished in 1962 and replaced by new construction.

The station building from 1962 was demolished between 2017 and 2020 and the station area was constructed in depth. An island platform, a side platform and three platform tracks were replaced by a new and wider central platform, two platform tracks for slow trains, and two through tracks for intercity trains. Intercity trains that do not stop in Driebergen-Zeist can then use the outer tracks, with the possibility of overtaking a sprinter.
A new bus station has been constructed on the north side of the station. Bicycles can only be parked in the bicycle shed. It is located under the station square. There is a 'living room' on the station square and under the tracks, a kiosk that also offers waiting space.
The level crossing in provincial road 225 has been replaced by an underpass, which cyclists also use. The level crossing in the Odijkerweg has been removed.

The new station was to be festively opened on April 7, 2020, but this was canceled due to the Corona virus.
Due to the Corona virus it is also very quiet at the station.
