N W 611 at the Airport 2 - a photo on Flickriver

            In April 2017, Norfolk & Western Railway's 4-8-4 611 led a passenger special from Spencer, North Carolina to the airport in Charlotte. This let two things happen. Norfolk Southern has a wye leading onto airport proerty to their intermodal yard which let the crew turn the train back for the trip to Sspencer. It also let the official Norfolk Southern Railway photographer get a few shots from railroad property of an airplant crossing over the steam engine. The rest of us got our shots from a nearby highway overpass. In this shot, an American Airlines Airbus 319 (tail number N812AW) is on the airplane bridge after just landing at Charlotte Douglas International Airport
