Puente de la Cárcel (Estella, Navarra)

            Cruzando el río Ega por este puente, el Camino de Santiago nos lleva a la iglesia de San Miguel in Excelsis. El primitivo puente fue construido en época medieval, pero fue destruido en 1873 debido a las Guerras Carlistas. Reconstruido totalmente, en 1975 sufrió una nueva remodelación, con la que adquirió su actual aspecto. Se trata de una construcción con un solo arco rebajado y dos significativas pendientes, que hacen su acceso muy difícil a las caballerías. A la entrada del puente existía un Hospital fundado en el siglo XII.
