Feels Like Floating - a photo on Flickriver

            We're experiencing some extreme arctic cold in Chicago (We always seem to get 2-4 days of a "polar vortex" every winter) and so I haven't left my home since Saturday and all schools are currently closed.  I'm curious as to how cold it has to be before schools are closed in other parts of the world.  Right now, it is -5F/-20C without wind chill and up to -30F/-34C with wind chill.  I'm pretty sure I'll be biking to work and back tomorrow when it is -12C/10F as a high for the day. 

I see several photographers all over the world taking amazing photos in these types of conditions and some photographer friends in Chicago have ventured out.  I've never been one for extreme temperatures, especially cold.  I have chronic muscle cramps triggered by cold and these can get so bad I can't put my feet flat on the ground.  It can get actually quite scary at times.  

So, this is just what you'll see from me which is the frozen snowflakes on my window pane.  I thought it created a lovely effect with my Macro lens and I was able to get much of the detail I wanted.
