Une femme au temple - a photo on Flickriver

            La femme dans son très élégant habit tibétain, attend d'entrer dans le temple du monastère  haut de  Wutun, l'un des deux monastères de la ville de Tongren/ Rebkong (province du Qinghai, Chine) où va avoir lieu une cérémonie .religieuse.

Les monastères haut et bas de Wutun s'étendent à quelques kilomètres de la ville de Tongren. A une distance d'un km l'un de l'autre, ils sont réputés pour leurs tangkas,  peintures tibétaines traditionnelles classées au patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO. Chacun des deux monastères abrite une école d'art tantrique où les artistes les plus talentueux sont formés.  Les tangkas sont des peintures sur toile propres à la culture tibétaine. Signifiant littéralement « chose que l'on déroule », les tangkas de toutes les tailles et de toutes les couleurs nécessitent au moins un mois de travail pour une peinture de petite taille. Ils représentent généralement des sujets ayant trait à la religion bouddhiste, tels des représentations des divinités ou des portraits du Dalaï-lama.
