Infinity - a photo on Flickriver

Infinity

A quite strange day up in Lakeland.. I'd seen the forecast for large parts of the lakes was 90-100% fog so decided to head up to the area around Rydal and Elterwater. I'd left the house before 5am so as not to be in a rush for sunrise, upon getting up there in pitch black it soon became obvious when looking around with my torch that the forecast was totally incorrect, not even the slightest bit of fog present.... great.

Setting off early had allowed me the benefitof changing my location if need be and I opted to head up to Keswick as again the forecast was saying 100% fog in places... but... yes you guessed it... no fog again! so I settled for a sunrise at Crow Park shooting out to Derwent Isle where there was some great low cloud to the rear isolating the island where I got some decent images in conditions I hadn't shot there before so I was happy (pics to follow).

After that I headed to the Ashness area of the the Lake to fly my drone and couldn't resist stopping off here as there wasn't a soul about and the colours were decent, it's a cliche of a shot but for good reason as it can look great in the right conditions, and the unsightly step on the end of the pier has now been removed making it a lot cleaner of an image, plus I don't think I've ever posted a shot from here on my Flickr stream before.

Not long after this after I'd had the drone up I found out why I'll never come up here in the School Holidays ever again, I had to drive about 25 miles to get something warm to eat as there was not 1 parking spot in Keswick, Ambleside, or even Coniston it was that busy with tourists, never seen anything like it!! at least 5 people nearly crashed into me as they were going too fast on tiny roads, and I got gridlocked twice with idiots not knowing how to use passing points in the road while driving their enourmous unnecessary cars. I'd well and truly had enough and the plan to do sunset was abandoned in favour of driving home while I had an intact vehicle and a few images in the bag.
