Spring in Savannah

            Emmet Park seperates the Savannah waterfront from the rest of the downtown area.

This park like so many others throughout the historic district is lined by live oak trees with drooping Spanish moss, bringing shade year round to a Southern city that knows more than its fair share of heat.

The oldest city in the state of Georgia, Savannah has long played an important role in American commerce and culture.  It's unique town plan, designed by founder, James Oglethorpe, remains largely intact today, leading to the majority of the city being designated a US National Historic Landmark District in 1966.
