It's About That Time - a photo on Flickriver

            Cherry blossom season is probably the most redeeming time for the swampy DC region.  

Recently, winters have been brutally cold with considerable snowfall, and summers have seen heat indicies consistently in the 100° F range. 

But, Spring brings glorious color to the mall, especially the tidal basin between the Jefferson Memorial and the Washington Monument, where hundreds of thousands of visitors flock each year to bask in the beauty of the cherry blossoms and celebrate the warm, light spring sunshine.

It is almost enough to make me miss living in the DMV.
