Tarin des aulnes - Spinus spinus - a photo on Flickriver

            Ici en compagnie d'un verdier d'Europe.
Le Tarin des aulnes est un petit fringille de taille inférieure à celle du chardonneret. C'est un oiseau du nord de l'Europe et des montagnes du sud, hivernant commun en France.
Le mâle adulte nuptial se reconnaît d'abord au jaune qui est partout dans son plumage, mais pas de façon uniforme. Ce jaune est particulièrement vif sur les côtés de la tête, les couvertures alaires, le croupion et la queue. Les parties inférieures sont bien jaunes aussi, et diversement striées de noirâtre suivant les individus. Certains sont bien striés sur les flancs, d'autres pas du tout, peut-être en rapport avec l'âge. Le manteau lui est plutôt olive. En vue de face, on note la calotte, le front, les lores et le menton noirs, caractère sexuel secondaire. Le bec est couleur corne, bien conique et pointu. Les pattes sont rosâtres à brunâtres.
