            Mamadou Koïta is a great singer. But he is more. He plays many instruments I have never even heard about. Demes, Balafon (precursor of vibraphone), Tama (small drug) player, Barras, N’Goni (or Kora), and probably few more.
Born in Burkina Faso, he is a virtuoso of the Balafon. He learned to play the balafon from his father, who himself was a balafon maker and a great player. In Montreal he was invited to play with 'Andrés Vial Percussion ensemble', which included saxophone, bass, vibraphone, drums and Ngoma drums. On the photo Mamadou plays kora and is with Eric Hove and Elli Miller Maboungou.

Nacido en Burkina Faso, es un virtuoso del Balafón. Aprendió a tocar el balafón de su padre, quien también era fabricante de balafones y un gran intérprete. En Montreal fue invitado a tocar con 'El conjunto de percusión Andrés Vial', que incluía saxofón, bajo, vibráfono, batería y batería Ngoma.
