Antica chiesa di San Zenone (Strada San Zeno) - Ancient Church of Saint Zenone.

La chiesa è di origini antichissime, anche se le prime notizie documentate dalle visite pastorali risalgono al 1411.
Del resto il territorio del piccolo comune si trovava nella principale via di comunicazione fra la Romagna e la Toscana, lungo la via che collegava Galeata a Firenze passando per San Zeno, Premilcuore e Castel dell'Alpe.
Il vicino passo del Muraglione infatti fu costruito solo nel 1836.
Dal Mambrini che ha dedicato a questo che in passato fu un comunello della potesteria di Galeata un intero capitolo nella sua opera "Galeata nella storia e nell'arte" apprendiamo che nella pieve erano presenti 5 altari (anno 1595), vi era la fonte battesimale e serviva per questo sacramento anche le vicine parrocchie di Pettola e Santa Marina.
All'epoca erano residenti 150 abitanti atti alla comunione e 50 non atti.
Nel 1746 vi si contavano 186 anime, mentre nel 1789 gli abitanti erano 210.
I primi restauri di cui si ha notizia risalgono al 1891 ed è di questa epoca la costruzione del campanile che poteva contare su 3 nuove campane.
Ulteriori lavori di consolidamento nel 1925 resisi necessari a causa del devastante terremoto che colpì la zona nel 1918.
Nel 1927 i parrocchiani erano 598.
Oggi arrivando alla Pieve si nota che la struttura sembra ancora integra ed il campanile con la sua banderuola svetta sul fabbricato che ad un primo sguardo veloce non sembra eccessivamente lesionato, ma una volta giunti sul sagrato ci si accorge che manca totalmente la parte destra dell'edificio e l'intera copertura.
Il fabbricato in condizioni pericolanti è aperto ma la sua staticità è fortemente compromessa.
In posizione isolata, in mezzo ad ampi campi coltivati e in sponda destra del piccolissimo rio San Zeno, a poche centinaia di metri da un'azienda agricola, avvolto nel silenzio della campagna collinare Romagnola, raccolto nel ricordo di un florido passato ed in attesa dell'ultimo fatidico crollo.
