Canary Wharf è un importante quartiere d'affari situato nel West India Docks sulla Isle of Dogs nel quartiere di Tower Hamlets a East London. E' uno di Londra i due principali centri finanziari, accanto alla tradizionale City of London, e contiene molti degli edifici più alti del Regno Unito. Circa 90.000 persone lavorano a Canary Wharf che è sede del quartier generale europeo o mondiale di numerose grandi banche e società di servizi.
Il West India Docks, una volta era parte del porto più trafficato del mondo. Dopo la chiusura definitiva delle banchine nel 1980 il governo britannico ha adottato politiche diverse per stimolare la riqualificazione della zona. Nel 1987 la società canadese Olympia e York, ha accettato di costruire uffici sull’Isle of Dogs, con la costruzione che è iniziata a partire dal 1988.
 
Canary Wharf is a major business district located in the West India Docks on the Isle of Dogs in the Borough of Tower Hamlets in East London. It is one of London's two main financial centres, alongside the traditional City of London, and contains many of the UK's tallest buildings. Around 90,000 people work in Canary Wharf and it is home to the world or European headquarters of numerous major banks and professional services firms.
The West India Docks once formed part of the busiest port in the world. After the docks were closed in 1980 the British Government adopted various policies to stimulate the redevelopment of the area. In 1987 the Canadian company Olympia and York agreed to construct a major office development on the Isle of Dogs, with construction commencing in 1988.
