Drifting - a photo on Flickriver

Drifting

Another image from the recent Lakleand visit that was cut very short due to crazy driving from idiot tourists on the roads and the sheer amount of people marauding around the place...I had totally forgotten it was half term at the Schools, won't happen again!

Like the image I posted a few ago on my stream this wasn't a place I had intended to shoot on this morning but seeing as the weather forecast was totally incorrect I uregently needed to change my plans and be at least 'somewhere' for sunrise where I thought there would be a good chance of some low lying mist. I was actually quite pleased when I got here and saw the conditions as there were large banks of low mist to the rear of the island that were continually drifting past and helping to isolate the colourful autumnal island from the mountain background, the water level was a lot lower than I had expected with all the rain but it simply meant that a tighter 'crop' into the Island was needed to keep a nice clean scene. It was just a question of wating for the moving mist to be in the right place before going about taking the image, this is one of 3 images I came away with that morning that I'm happy with, which considering the weather and the start to the day is pretty good all in all, this was taken about 15 minutes prior to sunrise.

It's a very well known and well shot location, not something I had planned to shoot but pleased I came away with something that I hadn't previously got.
