            20057 and 20025 stabled in the yard at Worksop, 7th May 1977

Locomotive History
20057 was originally D8057 and was built by English Electric at the Robert Stephensons and Hawthorn works, Darlington, entering traffic in May 1961 and allocated to Darnall MPD in Sheffield for South Yorkshire freight duties. On the opening of Tinsley MPD, Darnall’s allocation was transferred to the new depot in May 1964 followed by transfer to Immingham in October 1965. After a spell back at Tinsley in the summer of 1967 it transferred south in August 1968, as part of a small fleet of class 20’s allocated to Stratford (D8019/30-33/55-57) before returning to Tinsley in October 1969. It remained at Tinsley for most of its career until eventually transferring to Toton at the end of the 1980’s. It was withdrawn from Bescot in October 1994 since when it has been dumped at various locations and is currently (February 2012) at Long Marston awaiting its fate. 20025 entered service as D8025 in November 1959 and would survive in traffic until withdrawn in September 1991 and was broken up by MC Metals at Glasgow in February 1995.
