COLMAR "LA PETITE VENISE" - a photo on Flickriver

            Colmar is perhaps the most interesting city in Alsace photographically speaking and was one of the first to visit from our center of operations in Strasbourg.
But it was not prepared and undocumented so we got lost in old alleys but very similar to the ones I had already seen and photographed in Strasbourg.
I was informed with maps and directions to know where to go, park, eat etc. and after a few days we went back and went straight to the area where I wanted to see "Little Venice" and although it is very small as its name says, it was worth it.
Crossed by canals and full of houses of Alsatian style of all colors (it is forbidden to paint the same color as the house next door) is a joy, a wonderful show that will never forget. Flowers well cared for everywhere and friendly and happy people who gave us conversation and explanations almost without asking. Maybe also because I speak French correctly.
This photograph is only a sample of what this area is and on the terrace that looks over the river, we sit, already tired, to take a breather and an Alsatian beer.
I am aware that most of my photos are postcards, but it is what I like and do well and incidentally allows me to show my friends the most beautiful places I have been.

Colmar es quizá la ciudad más interesante de Alsacia fotográficamente hablando y fue una de las primeras que visitamos desde nuestro centro de operaciones en Estrasburgo.
Pero no iba preparado ni ducomentado por lo que nos perdimos por callejuelas antiguas pero muy parecidas a las que ya había visto y fotografiado en Estrasburgo.
Me informé con mapas y direcciones para saber donde debía ir, aparcar, comer etc. y al cabo de unos días volvimos y fuimos directamente a la zona que yo quería ver "La pequeña Venecia" y aunque es muy pequeña como dice su nombre, valió la pena.
Atravesada por canales y lleno de casas de estilo alsaciano de todos los colores (está prohibido pintar del mismo color que la casa de al lado) es una gozada, un espectáculo maravilloso que jamás olvidaré. Flores bien cuidadas por todas partes y gente amable y feliz que nos daba conversación y explicaciones casi sin pedirlas. Quizá también porque yo hablo francés correctamente.
Esta fotografía es solo una muestra de lo que esta es zona y en la terraza que se ve encima del rio, nos sentamos, ya cansados, a tomarnos un respiro y una cerveza alsaciana.
Soy consciente de que la mayoría de mis fotos, son postales, pero es lo que me gusta y se hacer bien y de paso me permite mostrar a mis amigos los lugares más bellos en los que he estado.
