Black Eyed Susan.. (EXPLORED)

After the rain the other day I wandered through our garden taking photos of the flowers and other plants. I am so eager for them to flower, though most are in the bud stage. The black eyed Susan's are not flowering yet, but the buds are just starting to unfurl they looked really nice in the shade of our massive oak in the corner of the yard..

I wonder as I type this what Susan did to get a black eye? what a really awful name for a plant as pretty as this one.
