Paris by Night - a photo on Flickriver

Paris by Night

            View from the right bank and Carrousel bridge. The bridge visible here is in the dark is the Royal bridge (built 1685). It is still standing on its original wood pillars, immersed in the river. 

The illuminated building (built 1728) was the former house of count of Belle-Isle. It burnt in 1871 and was rebuilt and extended to become the fund deposits and Consignment. 

Right behind, the metal structure is the former Orsay railway station (built 1898). Since 1986, it is the museum of Art dedicated to the 19the century only.    

In the background, the Eiffel tower, a few miles away.
