Phil_John_1961_Clifton

            Here we have two five year old lads, myself on the right and my oldest friend Phil Edwards on the left, in Phil's garden in Clifton, Nottingham in the spring of 1961. 

Phil lived next door and we have been great friends since we could crawl. Our friendship survived him moving to Grantham in the mid 1960’s and is still as strong today. 

I was contacted by one of his daughters a couple of days ago to say he was poorly and had been admitted to the Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham. I visited my old mate today in the QMC and I am glad to say he seems to be well and truly on the mend and hopes to go home in a few days time. 

Phil says the care he has received has been first class so my thanks to the NHS at Grantham Hospital, the QMC at Nottingham and the associated Ambulance services for looking after the old codger.

Update - Phil is back at home and well on the way to making a full recovery.
