            On a rather grey and dull day Great Western Railway Castle 5051 Drysllwyn Castle working the Welsh Marches Express at Bayston Hill, 24th March 1984 

Locomotive History
5051 was built at Swindon Works and entered traffic in May 1936, In August 1937 it lost its Drysllwyn Castle name being renamed Earl Bathurst which it retained until withdrawal in May 1963. After five years in the Woodham Brothers scrap yard at Barry it was purchased for preservation and moved the Great Western Society at Didcot, It return to traffic following restoration in 1979 until withdrawn for overhaul around 1988. It returned to traffic in 1998 until 2008 and is currently (January 2024) on static display at Didcot.
