Special:
- The P4 Series (nicknamed "Auntie" Rovers) was a complete new, well built automobile, designed by Gordon Bashford and at first shown at the 1949 Earls Court Motor Show, London. 
- The central headlight ("Cyclops Eye") was a standard issue until 1952.
- It has a four-speed manual gearbox (synchromesh on third and top), a freewheel clutch, column steering shifter, dual horizontal (instead of downdraught) SU carburettors, a 52 liter fuel tank and rear wheel drive.
- This luxurious car has a separate box-section steel frame
chassis, independent suspension with coil springs at the front and a live axle with half-elliptical leaf springs at the rear and hybrid hydro-mechanical drum brakes all around.
- The complete  aluminium/magnesium alloy body shells (including "suicide" doors, boot lid and bonnets) were produced by the Pressed Steel company, Cowley.
- The complete P4 Series (1949-1964) included the "60", "75", "80", '90", "95", "100" "105" and "105" and was one of the last UK cars with rear-hinged "suicide" doors.
